It’s officially spring and the first quarter of the year has made its mark with a growing number of robocalls. Positively, Hiya’s detection of those robocalls is also growing!
This past March, 1.7 billion robocalls made their way to our mobile phones. Of those unwanted calls, Hiya has analyzed 3.5 billion and detected 181 million spam calls and texts worldwide.
As for the Scam of the Month, the ‘Can You Hear Me’ scam made waves across the nation. Then, when tax season hit, the top area code utilized by scammers was Washington D.C.’s 202 area code. Washington D.C. happens to be the home of the IRS headquarters. Coincidence? We think not.
