Even though Hiya officially launched a little over a year ago, we already have millions of users in 196 countries (that’s all of them!). We also partner with some of the largest carriers and smartphone manufacturers in the world to provide meaningful context for important inbound and outbound calls. What an amazing journey it has been so far!!

Alex Algard

Alex Algard
Founder

Alex is the CEO of Hiya (and the founder of Whitepages, the twenty-year-old digital identity company that he created during his senior year of university). Alex oversees product vision and corporate strategy for Hiya. He is one of the industry’s earliest mobile caller ID visionaries, having launched the first Android app of its kind in 2008. Alex holds a B.A. in Economics and a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering (Product Design), both from Stanford University.

Jan Volzke

Jan Volzke
VP, Reputation Data

As Vice President, Reputation Data, Jan manages the team that protects Hiya’s millions of users from spam, nuisance calls and mobile fraud. Prior to Hiya, Jan worked for Whitepages, following the acquisition of his company, Numbercop. Jan is a telecom & security expert with more than 15 years of experience in mobile devices, telephony networks, and application security. He holds a BCEE in Engineering Telecommunications from Dresden University of Technology and a MBA in International Business and Marketing from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

Jonathan Weeks

Jonathan Weeks
VP, Engineering

As Vice President, Engineering, Jonathan oversees the team that navigates the complex world of clouds, servers, networks, deployment, configuration, scalability, reliability, and more. Most recently, Jonathan was Senior Architect at Whitepages. Immediately prior to Whitepages, he served as the Senior Director of Systems Engineering at ServiceNow and held senior positions at HP, AT&T and Disney. Jonathan studied Physics at the University of Washington.

Liz Powell

Liz Powell
VP, Marketing and Communications

As Vice President, Marketing and Communications, Liz is responsible for building awareness for Hiya across all parts of the company. Prior to Hiya, Liz worked at Pro.com, a home services start-up, where she was Head of Organic Growth. Prior to that, she worked at Whitepages for five years as Marketing Director and Senior PR Manager. She has also held similar positions at Blue Nile, E*TRADE and CNET. Liz holds a B.A. from UC Berkeley and an M.S. in Strategic Communications from Columbia University in New York.

Chris Reiner

Chris Reiner
VP, Business Development

As Vice President of Business Development, Chris Reiner leads Hiya’s ongoing growth and distribution strategy, with a specific focus on both Mobile Carrier and OEM partnerships. Chris started his mobile career with start-up Voice Signal Technologies, which was acquired by Nuance Communications after building the foundations for mobile device voice assistants and achieving mass market adoption. Following Nuance, Chris worked at Carrier IQ, a mobile analytics startup focussed on improving the mobile user experience, where he was responsible for driving growth and distribution with Device OEM partners. Most recently, he returned to Nuance where he led the North American and European Sales and Go-to-Market organization for the Mobile Division. Chris received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Vermont and Master’s in Business Administration from the Franklin W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College.
