Deshpande joined Hiya’s Gateway Team as a new grad and works behind the scenes to implement some of the cool features on the Hiya app. Outside of her love for coding, get to know Deshpande’s life before Hiya, her passion for Harry Potter and more, below!
Where is your hometown?
I am from India.
Before working at Hiya, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
I worked backstage as a part of the school event management team during grad school. It was extremely interesting because I got to interact with a lot of different people.
What are 3 words to describe Hiya?
Inspired, inventive, visionary
What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?
I love coding and I get to do a lot of that here 🙂
What is your favorite thing to do in the wonderful city of Seattle?
I love taking walks along the pier.
What has been the most important innovation you have witnessed in your lifetime?
I will have to say “Google”.
Any favorite line from a movie?

What four individuals, living or dead, would you like to eat dinner with the most?
Elon Musk, Ellen DeGeneres, Shahrukh Khan and does fictional count…Sherlock Holmes.
Where is the best place you have traveled to and why?
I love traveling, and it’s very hard to choose, but Lakshadweep islands in India are by far my favorite 🙂
What is your personal philosophy?
It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities (another one of Dumbledore’s quotes! I am a huge fan).
