Arkansas Joins South Carolina in Striking Down Ban Against Political Robocalls

The fight against robocalls is getting even hotter after a federal judge in Arkansas struck down a ban on political robocalls. The judge ruled that it violates the First Amendment as a content-based restriction on speech.

As the campaign season has been hitting it hard on all media outlets, the ruling from Judge J . Leon Holmes won’t give anyone a break. It will allow automated political calls to continue bothering Arkansas citizens.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time a state has overturned a ban against these types of calls. South Carolina struck down a similar ban last year.
